Judging Jean

stone maidenIn response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “BYOB(ookworm).”

In her first novel, Stephanie takes you on a journey to the inner sanctum of  the human psyche.

You will meet Jean, an un assuming girl who’s childhood  betrayals  lead her to develop an avarice appetite for control.  As she blossoms into a beautiful woman her charms are unleashed on an unsuspecting man who will soon become her husband and pawn.  They travel to America in the hope of building an honest and productive life together.  As their lives unfold however Jean’s proclivity for drama, her mastery in the art of manipulation and her unending thirst for deceit soon pits sister against sister, sister against brother and daughter against father.  This family in turmoil dismantles itself  and only after a series of fateful events, scandals and untimely deaths does the  truth begin to emerge and this colourful set of unlikely family members find the courage to address their pain and repair connections to each other.

Stephanie’s ability to create authentic characters that  penetrate your heart will leave you laughing, crying, loving and loathing.  This book will undoubtedly expand your compassion  and understanding of the human process, necessary  growth and how the logistics and ties of family are often an expression of our own personal prescription for evolution.
